Capleton: HERE ARE THE FIRE-TERNAL

of Lorenzo Li Veli

King Shango, King David, The Prophet, The Fireman. Capleton you can call with one of his many nicknames, but the only thing certain is that her voice is one of the most predominant in the Jamaican music scene.
Artist eclectic and difficult to define, many of the dancehall and reggae classic, recognized as one of the most talented artists of both genres.
Capleton's arrival in the world of dancehall, in early 90s, is a bolt from the blue: the violence and vulgarity that made her masters in the subjects covered by the songs, they are set aside in favor of love linked to the Rastafarian religion and real life scenes, as evidenced Cold Blooded Murder or his most famous hit, Jah Jah City . Official ambassador of the Stop Murder Music movement, a campaign to eradicate the strongly homophobic attitudes that some Jamaican artists exhibit, unofficially on his albums has not spared heavy attacks on the gay community. This has reversed as a result, attracted strong criticism about the artist.

In 2010 I realized -Ternal Fire, published in Vp Records, the major record label that collects the greatest artists of the Caribbean, after an exile of ten years in the Penitentiary Records . Compared to previous works, his latest work reflects the artist's desire to tack on more soulful and musical atmospheres compared to hard-core sounds of dancehall and reggae. It leaves out one of the best albums of Capleton, if not the best. The Jamaican artist's social conscience is in the foreground: The Call is a scathing indictment to rapists, child molesters and the authorities, accused of conniving when it comes to release these dangerous criminals. The classic Capleton comes out when she sings When I Come To Town , criticism of the corrupt politicians that govern his country (very similar, however, his greatest hit, Jah Jah City ) while Global War try not to depress attention to the disastrous situation in the Middle East. The theme of his alleged homophobia is not addressed, even if a sentence during All Is Well , "Mistry Babylon, I do not need your approval", seems an obvious dig at his accusers. Do not miss the good times and joy, as in Acres , dedicated to his Jamaica, or Mama You Strong , a beautiful tribute to her mother. The first track, Some Day , which was the only shot a video, clarifies his views on religion Rastafari and a message of hope on the possibility of a better world.

With this latest renewal in key soul has Capleton consolidated its position as one of the largest of Jamaican music, able to pass through three decades, always offering high quality music.
