Prodigy has finally put his head in place, and these, at least, are the first impressions of his friends and acquaintances after meeting him following his release from prison. After serving a sentence of three years for illegal possession of firearms, Prodigy has wasted no time, close them in the studio recording a new song with his partner Havoc ever. Here Love Y'all More , new single from Mobb Deep produced by Alchemist. Nothing comparable to Survival of the Fittest, but the news that Prodigy is back at work puts in a good mood.
In the midst of a creative crisis group (Mobb Deep released an album not acceptable from back in 2001 with Infamy ) that has lasted a decade, Prodigy seemed to be out of the impasse that had chosen along with Havoc. E 'del 2007 Return Of The Mac, great job entirely produced by Alchemist, Prodigy seems to return to the glories of the past.
The New York rapper finds new life and art seem to travel in the fifth on the basis of Alchemist, showing a verve worthy of the P of the early '90s, and the album gets a fair commercial success, thanks the individual Mac 10 Handle .
However Return Of The Mac is the swan song of an artist who knows he has already done his time, caught in contractual problems with the label of G-Unit (resolved in 2009 with the release of the group by the record). The two subsequent products, and HNIC 2 Product Of The 80's , Prodigy shows a tired and listless, aware of the sad situation in which he finds himself, despite some surges quality, as in The Life .
Along with new music projects, however, on April 9 will come into his autobiography, My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep's Prodigy , co-written with journalist Laura Checkoway, tell where some curious anecdotes about his career and will shed light on controversial incidents, such as the fight with Saigon or the feud with his colleague Keith Murray. Prodigy is out of jail and does not seem to want to stop for no reason at all. Whether it's the right time for a new album of quality, after the destruction of Blood Money?
